I’m a mom to four wonderful children, and an amazing husband. My children are all under the age of five, which includes a set of twins. The twins are my youngest and it took multiple helping hands and a lot of prayers to get them here, which is in part why I started an attempt at blogging again. Our twins were not only a huge surprise because this is the first set on both sides of our families, but they were monoamniotic monochorionic (also known as momo twins). In non-medical terms, one amniotic sac and one placenta. This translates to a lot of doctor appointments, a six week hospital stay and a month in the NICU. Often what your read about momo twins is not promising, and is often scary as there are a lot of complications that can arise from this type of pregnancy. I hope by writing down my story I can help others experiencing this same type of pregnancy.
Aside from trying my hand at being a new mom of four children, I love cooking and I have an obsession with constantly trying new recipes. I’m learning this is a good thing, since in my family cooking a meal that everyone likes is no easy feat. Plus, if you add the unpredictable life of children where sometimes you can have an hour to cook, and sometimes they give you five seconds finding great meals can be difficult. I enjoy creating new creations, that work with my children’s tastes and schedules. I hope I can share some winning meals from our home here.
I’m secretly (actually it’s really not a secret) a big control freak. This personality often collides head on with family life, so I’m trying my best to trust in the Lord and learn to take life as it comes and not always have “my plan”.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. –Proverbs 3:5-6
